Protimax-L is a spray dried egg produced from laying hens that have been vaccinated with Lawsonia intracellularis bacteria.
Ileitis is the most significant cause of diarrhea in grow-finish pigs across the world and is prevalent in up to 90% of all swine herds. Lawsonia intracellularis (L.I.) has been identified as the causive agent of Ileitis. Unfortunately, most herds only display sub-clinical signs that result in poor perfor- mance which can cost producers $3.50 to $7.00 per pig in lost performance. In addition to increased death loss, pigs having ileitis can experience poor feed digestibility, increased feed to gain ratios, decreased growth rates, and poor uniformity; all of these decrease the bottom line! Protimax-L is a unique spray dried egg produced from laying hens that have been vaccinated specifically with patented Lawsonia intracellularis bacteria. Specific antibodies and other naturally occurring non-specific immune compounds are present in all Protimax-L spray dried egg products. We believe in better health through better nutrition. Protimax-L is pasteurized and processed to retain specific immunoglobulins and other components that are food for the immune system.
Protimax-L Trial Results
An independent swine Wean to Finish study was conducted to determine growth and economic return on the performance of ileitis disease challenged pigs fed Protimax-L spray dried egg in their diets, compared to ileitis disease challenged pigs treated with medication or oral vaccines in a typical Commercial Swine wean to finish barn in Northern Iowa. Better health through better nutrition!
